FAQ

You do not need prior acting experience before joining! Most of our classes consist of beginners, intermediate and advanced actors.

At the moment z/a is exclusively an adult acting class, with a minimum age of 18 years old.

When you audit a class you do not need to bring anything to work on or perform. Our classes are four hours long, so we do recommend bringing water, snacks, a jacket, pen and notepad. We ask that phones be silenced and put away during class.

We tailor our approach to each individual actor using the Katselas Technique, developed by Hollywood coach Milton Katselas, who trained under Elia Kazan and Lee Strasberg at the acclaimed Actors Studio.

If you decide to sign up after your audit, email zastudiola@gmail.com. We will confirm a start date and begin the registration process.

Tuition rates can be discussed with our Stage Manager after your audit.

Tuition is ongoing and due every four weeks. Our payment system operates on a four week pay period cycle. Meaning not the first of every month. Payment due dates and tuition amount can be shared during your audit or if you wish to sign up.

We do not offer refunds in most cases. Once you’ve joined and need to depart from class unexpectedly or have an emergency, a credit will be issued to your account to use upon your return. We require 2 weeks notice if you decide to discontinue class and there are no refunds for leaving before the end of a four-week pay cycle.

Yes. Our classes are ongoing with no long-term contract. However, we recommend at least six months to fully grasp and apply our technique. If you choose to leave after one month, simply provide at least two weeks’ notice before your departure.

“After my first audit, I knew this was the acting school I needed to help me become a better actor. Over the last three years, I have learned how to create detailed and more specific characters in auditions and roles that I book. At Z/A we learn more than just scene study. We also study significant movies and plays of all genres past and present to be the most knowledgeable actor in the room or on set. I have learned so much from Rob and Peter and truly cherish the time I have spent with this welcoming community of actors.”
